It was the end of an era this week for the Blair family. Britain's former prime minister and his clan assembled on the steps of 10 Downing Street for their last appearance as the UK's 'first family'. They were saying goodbye to the home they've shared for the past ten years, and handing over to new head of state, Gordon Brown, and his wife Sarah.
The removal men had already taken the furniture to their new residence in Connaught Square, near Hyde Park. All that was left to do was wave goodbye to the photographers gathered to record the moment.
For Tony Blair's youngest child Leo, seven, Downing Street is the only home he has ever known. The family moved into number 11 - bigger than the official listed residence at number ten - three years before he was born. Sons Euan, 23, and 21-year-old Nicky left home aged 18 to go to university, returning at weekends and during holidays to spend time with their brother and sister Kathryn, 19.
After leaving Downing Street for the last time, Mr Blair, accompanied by his wife Cherie, made the five-minute trip to Buckingham Palace. After a decade of once-a-week meetings, he had a final private face-to-face audience with the Queen as head of government, during which he formally resigned as prime minister.

THE Drugs Don’t Work — but now Nineties Indie darlings THE VERVE do. RICHARD ASHCROFT, NICK MCCABE, SIMON JONES and PETE SALISBURY have become the latest band to reunite. They’re recording an album and will tour in November. Their classic third album, Urban Hymns, won a Brit for the Wigan lads who, in their heyday, were pushing pals OASIS for the title of Britain’s best band. The reunion will spark a huge bidding war from labels for the creators of monster hits such as Lucky Man, Bitter Sweet Symphony and sole No1, The Drugs Don’t Work. A figure of £5million is being rumoured for the comeback. The drug-plagued band split when guitarist Nick quit after a fallout with frontman Ashcroft. There was a re-formed line-up with a new guitarist, but it was short-lived. Ashcroft later said there was more chance of all THE BEATLES getting back together than The Verve reuniting. But yesterday they announced two gigs each in Glasgow, Blackpool and London. They are “getting back together for the joy of the music.” They plan a break before returning to the studio to finish the album.
With the figures being talked about, no wonder they are all singing from the same hymn-sheet again...

Yes, I did it... (hay una Nefasta que se va a burlar)
Muchos lo saben, soy más bien rocker. La guitarra es lo mío, nada de maquinitas. Pero el domingo a la noche hice algo IM-PEN-SA-DO!!! Después de una cena en un resto con música rocker a todo volumen (algo también impensado para él, cuando hay méritos de su parte, tenemos que mencionarlos), fuimos a Jacko's. Y tuve que bailar (o al menos lo intenté). Carezco de ritmo, no sé coordinar y (por más que lo intente) no puedo separar los pies del suelo! Pero hay que hacer el esfuerzo, por más que sea música electrónica, por más que sienta que se me perfora el cerebro, porque hay que experimentar las cosas que le gustan al otro, no?

Esta nota de Clarín me perturba...
Niebla persistente: un fenómeno que no se registraba desde hace 25 años
Aunque desde el Servicio Meteorológico lo consideran normal para esta época del año, les llama la atención la cantidad de días de permanencia. No se repetía algo así desde mayo de 1982.
(Cuando leí que no se registraba este fenómeno desde hacía 25 años, algo en mi cabeza me hizo pensar que esto no se veía desde 1930. Perooooo... Yo tenía 4 años en 1982. El paso del tiempo me está incomodando)

Me duele el bracito
Hoy empecé con el chequeo y no me gusta que me saquen sangreeeeee. Además, me hicieron el electro, que no sé cómo habrá salido, porque la mina tenía mucha mala onda y no me dijo nada. No logro relajarme cuando me hacen este tipo de estudios...

Había visto un chaleco de piel (falsa, no cargo animales muertos sobre mis espaldas). Mi madre se fue hasta el local para dar el visto bueno. Y ahora no quiero comprarlo. Dejó de llamarme la atención. Esto es muy raro en mí, algo debe estar pasándome...

Gansos roban celular a estudiante
(Periodismo.com) -Un joven de 23 años fue abordado violentamente por un grupo de gansos que lo arrojaron al piso y le hicieron soltar el celular. Uno de los animales tomó el aparato y huyó.
Sam Rozati, un joven estudiante de último año de jurisprudencia, desconoce el marco legal en el cual se inscribe la agresión de la cual fue víctima: cuatro gansos no sólo lo golpearon sino que además robaron su teléfono celular.
Las aves concentraron sus ataques en el teléfono empuñado por Rozati, quien tras varios picotazos no pudo hacer más que rendirse y soltarlo. Fue entonces cuando uno de los gansos lo tomó entre su pico y huyó corriendo.
"Nunca nadie me había asaltado, pero ahora he sido embestido por un ganso", manifestó decepcionado Rozati, quien añadió que seguirá haciendo el "camino largo" hasta su casa para no toparse más con sus agresores.
